What is A Funeral Celebrant?

A funeral celebrant is a trained and certified individual who works with a family to plan and officiate a funeral ceremony based on the values and desires of a deceased individual and his or her immediate family members. A funeral celebrant officiates the ceremony based on the life lived, memories made, love and quirks rather than the religious affiliation of the deceased, but are still available to incorporate hymn readings and song for those families wanting to add some religious content.
